XML formatter and converter

The XML tool is not published yet. You can convert JSON to XML today with the JSON formatter, which uses the same escaping and element-naming rules this page will use in reverse.

What the XML tool will do

Three features, all of them running in the browser like the rest of the hub.

  • Pretty-print with a chosen indent

Re-indent a document without touching attribute order, text nodes or CDATA sections.

  • Nesting and entity validation

Report the first mismatched or unclosed tag with the line it appears on.

  • XML ⇄ JSON conversion

The same value model the JSON studio already uses for its XML export, in both directions.

  • CSV & tables

Parse comma, semicolon, tab or pipe separated files with quoted fields intact, then export JSON, a Markdown table, an HTML table or SQL INSERT statements — with a delimiter detector, duplicate removal and column filtering.

  • JSON formatter

Validate JSON with an error position, format it with two spaces, four spaces or tabs, minify it, inspect the parse tree, and convert to YAML, XML or CSV with key count and depth statistics.

  • SQL formatter

Reformat a query with each clause on its own line and one column per line, uppercase or lowercase the keywords, and choose between Standard SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite.
